Five gold stars in a row, rating icon.

If I could give Dr. Bishop and staff 10 stars, I would. I was in desperate need and they jumped through hoops to help me. I have some serious anxiety around dental work and have never had a root canal before. They were compassionate and so sweet to me. I had NO PAIN during my procedure. Dr. Bishop explained everything to me before and as she was working. They also use a Gentle Wave in the office for root canals. I was so happy with my results, they even called to check to on me afterwards. As far as root canals go, it was a great experience. I just cannot thank them enough.

PATIENT FEEDBACK

Amazing! Dr. Bishop performed my root canal and for me it was easier than getting a filling. I have extreme fear of dentists. I kept waiting for something terrible but it didn't happen! She was focused and calm and before I knew it, it was done. It was the best dental experience I have EVER had. She also did 3 root canals on my son, saving his teeth from extraction and his bone damage from the infection is healing!

Huntsville’s Choice for Endodontic Care

Common Questions About Root Canals

Get answers to the most common questions about endodontic treatment.

  • Does a root canal hurt?

Modern root canal therapy is no more uncomfortable than getting a filling. We use local anesthesia to completely numb the area, making the treatment itself very comfortable.

  • How long does a root canal take?

Most root canal procedures take 60-90 minutes, depending on the tooth being treated. The GentleWave procedure can sometimes reduce treatment time compared to traditional methods.

  • Do I need a crown after a root canal?

In most cases, yes. A crown protects the treated tooth and restores its full function. Your tooth may be more fragile after root canal therapy.

  • What if I don't get a root canal?

Without treatment, a tooth infection will not heal on its own and will likely worsen. This can lead to severe pain, abscess formation, and eventual tooth loss.
